Alaknanda Chaudhary was one of those people. Remembered for her exceptional honesty and for the many people she helped, she brought a deeply human meaning to the idea of service. To those who knew and loved her, her kindness was inseparable from who she was.
An entrepreneur with a breadth of learning
Alaknanda was also a local entrepreneur in her own right. Her education spanned fashion, dietetics, e-commerce, retail and clothing. This breadth of learning is an important part of her story, alongside her honesty and the help she offered others.

As a founding member, shareholder and one of the first directors of Purnima Lallan Sharma Foundation, Alaknanda helped give the organisation its beginning. Her contribution is part of our history, but her importance to us reaches far beyond a name in the founding records.
Born on 17 May 1973, she passed away on 6 August 2023 at the age of 50. Her life ended far too soon. The love and respect felt for her remain, as does the responsibility to honour her through the way we work.
The values we carry forward
Her life reminds us to be honest, to help where we can and to treat people with care. This is how we understand her philosophy: through the kindness she showed and the trust she earned. These values continue to guide the spirit of the Foundation.
